Anthony Olawafemi Olaseni Born on October 15, 1989, Joshua OBE is a professional boxer from Britain. Between 2016 and 2021, he won the WBA (Super version), IBF, and WBO crowns on two occasions in addition to the unified world heavyweight title.
Anthony Joshua Early Life and Education
On October 15, 1989, Anthony Joshua was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, to Robert and Yeta Joshua. His father is of Irish and Nigerian descent, as is his mother. Anthony Joshua is of Nigerian descent and is an aristocracy among the Yoruba people.
In 2013, he made his professional boxing debut alongside his cousin Ben Ileyemi. Anthony Joshua was a boarder at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Nigeria, for a portion of his early years. At the age of twelve, his parents separated, and he returned to the UK to attend Kings Langley Secondary School.
His middle name, Oluwafemi, led to him being referred to as "Femi" by friends and teachers during his upbringing in Garston, Hertfordshire.

At the age of 18, Anthony Joshua began boxing in 2007 after receiving encouragement from his cousin to pursue the sport. He had his training in North London's Finchley ABC, home of heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora. The Haringey Box Cup was won by Anthony Joshua in 2009 and 2010.
In 2010, he won the senior ABA Championship. Offered a £50,000 contract to become a professional, he turned it down, preferring to concentrate on medal winning. After winning the 2010 GB Championships, Anthony Joshua's career took off, and he was chosen for the GB Boxing squad. In the same year, he won the British amateur championship.
In 2011, Anthony Joshua qualified for the 2012 Olympics with an amateur record of 40-3 and a silver medal at the World Championships in Baku.

Anthony Joshua uses his passions for reading and chess to improve his fighting techniques. He was a bricklayer before he decided to box. He was remanded to Reading Prison in 2009 on a number of charges.
His arrest in 2011 for possessing cannabis with the intent to distribute led to a 12-month community order and 100 hours of unpaid labour.
